Dracula by Bram Stoker

“Dracula” follows the story of Count Dracula’s attempt to move from Transylvania to England in order to spread the undead curse and find new blood. The novel begins with Jonathan Harker, a solicitor, traveling to Dracula’s castle in Transylvania to help the count with his real estate transactions. Harker quickly realizes he is a prisoner in the castle and that Dracula possesses supernatural powers. As Dracula arrives in England, he begins to prey upon Lucy Westenra and Mina Murray, leading to a series of mysterious and tragic events. A group of characters, including Harker, Dr. Seward, Lucy’s fiancé Arthur Holmwood, the American Quincey Morris, and the knowledgeable Professor Van Helsing, band together to track down and ultimately confront Dracula. The novel explores themes of fear, superstition, and the clash between modernity and ancient evil.
