“Baptism of Fire” is the third novel in the main Witcher saga, continuing the journey of Geralt of Rivia as he searches for the missing princess Ciri. After the events of “The Time of Contempt,” Geralt is recovering from his injuries and sets out on a perilous journey to find and protect Ciri, who is now in hiding. Along the way, Geralt gathers a diverse group of companions, including the vampire Regis, the archer Milva, the dwarf Zoltan Chivay, and the bard Dandelion. Together, they face numerous challenges and dangers as war rages around them. Meanwhile, Ciri continues to struggle with her own destiny and the powerful forces that seek to control her. The novel explores themes of camaraderie, loyalty, and the harshness of a world engulfed in conflict, as Geralt’s quest becomes increasingly desperate and fraught with peril.
